NieNie Day

Today is NieNie day, and there is an auction in honor of Christian and Stephanie (NieNie) Neilson (parents of 4 young children), who were critically injured in an airplane crash, and who have months and months of recovery ahead of them. All of today's proceeds will go directly to the Nielson's recovery fund.

Well this morning I was looking at blogs and I came across Michelle's blog. She had a link to the story of this family that had been in a plane crash. I can not believe how many people have come forward to help. So on my side bar I will be putting a donate sign for the family. This story has touched me. If you can't help financially please help by keeping them in your prayers.

Can Obsession

Cooper has an obsession with the soda cans that we take and recycle. Everyday is the same. He gets in them about 5 or more times and I put them back. He likes to take the tab thingy off and stick it in the soda can. Then he shakes it to hear it. He could sit over there by himself and do this for a while. He also likes to make sure there is no more soda in the cans by sipping what if any is left. Gross I know but he won't die from it. I'm glad the bag is full now he won't have any cans to play with for a while.

So, on Sunday we went to Brach's parents house. Everyone was sitting around and I was outside with the kids. I made the kids go in and get the adults and have them come out and play. So I started Mother May I. That was hilarious. I made them do kart wheels,frog jumps, somersault's, and fire engine till I say stop. Then they wanted to play Sharks and Mino's. Then we played a great game of Duck, Duck,Goose. I wish I would have taken a picture of that or at least video taped it. It was so funny! I almost got killed by Rick and Brach. That is a deadly game.:) Then we all went in and sang Grandpa Happy Birthday. It's so nice to be so close to all the family.

Alpine Slides

We took a trip up to Big Bear since we aren't far from it.
The lake was so beautiful.

rode the race cars as Dillon calls them.

Thanks to Kelly for posting that they went to the Alpine slides. I decided the next day that we were going to go. I have been on Alpine slides in Park City,UT but I was like 10 when I had done it last. We had so much fun. I don't know who had more fun Dillon or Brach. Dillon couldn't get enough of the alpine slide. He rode up the ski lift all the way to the top and wasn't scared at all. Every time they would come down he would say "Let's go again." We bought a 5 time ride so that was good for us. We will definitely be back again. We will plan on doing the water slides too though next time. We aren't far from Big Bear so we will have to plan for a all day thing. They have so many things to do in Big Bear. I never knew. They have kayaking, charter a fishing boat, parasailing, a zoo, a bowling alley, movie theater and in the winter there is skiing, sledding and whatever else. If any of you are close to the mountains check it out.

Grandma's 91st Birthday Party

Well we had a really good night. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory. The food was really good. If any of you ever go get the Vegetarian Lasagna. It was super good. Grandma opened a few presents and they even sang her Happy Birthday. Actually the whole banquet room sang Happy Birthday. I think she really loved it and I was happy to have everyone get together. Also I got my first non family babysitter. I was super scared but she turned out to be really good and my kids were happy with her.I'm so glad it turned out to be a good night.

Finger Painting Fun!





Easy Finger Paint
2 cups white flour
2 cups cold water
food coloring

Directions
Put water into a large bowl. Slowly add the flour, while the children are stirring. Once it's all mixed together, divide into smaller bowls and add food coloring.

So today we did so many activities. We did an art project this morning. Then we moved onto finger painting and that lasted a while. The boys both thought it was really fun and it was super easy to clean off. I just hosed them off. After the finger painting they needed a hair cut so I cut their hair and then we came in and cleaned off in the tub and we ate dinner and then made some really good cookies. So for the long wait in posting. It just seems like I can't get around to doing it. So we have been up to alot. Yesterday my sister and I went to the spa and relaxed. We both had never been and I had a gift certificate from my hubby. It was a beautiful spa and I will definitely be back and will make an appointment for a message or facial next time. I got really sick last week and that put me down for the whole week. I got sick the same week Cooper was sick. Good ol' sinus infection. We just really like handing out money to the doctor's offices and the pharmacy. When you guys don't hear from me for a while it is because Brach has had a couple days off work. He keeps us on the move. He is not one to sit around. I can't think of all the things we have been up to but we really have been up to alot.

Dillon is just getting bigger and is just so hilarious. A couple days ago at dinner we were sitting there and I was getting upset that he wasn't eating and he was playing around. I kept saying " Dillon eat." "Dillon eat." "Stop playing Dillon." After a while I was frustrated so I was getting even more demanding and was just wanting him to finish and he says to me."Mommy you are grouchy." I just broke out laughing. He has also started to say "Yes Mame." He told me the other day after I told him to pick up his toys he said "Eye, eye captain." It was hilarious! He just cracks me up. He says to me all the time "Mom, I'm the boss and you are the boss." I tell him "No Dillon I'm the boss." He still thinks he is the boss. Gotta' love him.
